Robotran and piano action

Last week, two members of the Robotran team were in Paris for a one-day thematic conference organised conjointly by the Société de Biomécanique and the Société Française d’Acoustique. The conference focused on the interaction between the musician (biomechanics and movement sciences) and his instrument (acoustics).

Paul Fisette and Sébastien Timmermans had the opportunity to present the multibody model of a double escapement piano action. Also, as part of a collaborative project between UCLouvain and INRIA Bordeaux, Guillaume Castera and Juliette Chabassier presented how to couple a multibody model of a piano action (Robotran software) with an acoustic model of the instrument (Montjoie software).
